my favorite was katya's single line response of, "they already know, so don't worry about it"

As someone who lead my company's Pride group for 5 years, just reach out to whoever is doing that. Believe me, your association with the leader of Pride or the group in general will tell everyone you are gæ. There are a lot of non-gays in Pride but in a remote meeting, you'll see a lot of faces and know, at least, who is an ally if not a personal gay.

Re: Drag, I do not do drag BUT I'd say that if you wanna do it as an art form, do it! I think they know more than me re: it being a career (LOL) but gussying yourself up and taking photos or social or whatever? Funsies. OR OR OR be, like, a realtor or something but have your gimmick be "The Drag Realtor" so you don't have to bother making coin off of lip syncing "Gimme More" but instead, you can earn 2.5% of a home sale (w/huge lashes on but definitely comfortable shoes bc WTF).

Katya actively trying to steer people away from drag and Trixie being fully over it is a definite case of "do as I say, not as I do" :)

I’m about as far as one could get from being a drag queen but as someone who’s always wanted to get into a field that’s also incredibly over saturated and unsustainable, where there’s a potential for great success and wealth but in reality you’re more likely to stay starving and poor, I honestly think the best thing to do is do it for your own enjoyment with no expectation of a career. Obviously finding enough success for it to be your career is the dream, but with it being so unlikely it’s not safe to invest all your limited funds into it. However I think it’s more likely that you will get lucky enough for it to be a career if you’re doing it because you genuinely enjoy it, because that does translate to any potential audience. It’s definitely a hard balance to keep since you often need money and time to do things you enjoy but you also need time to work and get that money. I guess what I’m saying is of course do it if you want to, because life sucks too much to not take chances on things you enjoy. But make sure to give yourself a safety net because life also sucks a lot more if you find yourself without food to eat and a house to live in.

re: the second question, i love how y'all feel like you have the right to gatekeep art. they didn't ask whether they should pursue drag or not, they already said they wanted to. it obviously doesn't work out for everybody but who cares, try it out. life is too short and this planet is dying too fast not to take chances and pursue something you love.

Not this. Y'all weirdos just love to encourage people into dead-ends and then have the AUDACITY to wonder why Gen Z are all depressed and disillusioned. It's because y'all can't take hardcore honesty-- and when someone gives it to you, you whine, bitch, moan and bellyache. Stop using up your precious remaining life hours by trying to be a whiny truth-averting SJW. Take the advice. And if you don't like it: SHUT UP.

The most compassionate thing to do when someone is about to careen off a cliff is to hit their brakes. Because if they're on a drag queen's blog asking about drag, IT AIN'T FOR THEM. If they were meant to do anything meaningful in the business, they'd know it was their calling and they'd already be living and breathing it. Our passions typically develop very early in life and we start exploring them or have a desire to explore them then.

You may now bellyache and whine about how my response misses the mark. Be sure to tell your therapist about how I roughhoused you emotionally online and how I'm a bully.
