I can’t exactly pinpoint why, but this was by far the funniest set of responses yet. Something about the mix of cat hatred, overworking and the solo trampoline outing was hilarious. This is exactly why I subscribe to Gooped.
Maybe being allergic to cats has given me an easy out in the cat vs. dog debate but I think it’s so funny how worked up people get about it. That being said, I’m team dog 100%!
Also, the difference in responses to the burnout question was so on brand. I’ve been the person who needed to step back as well as the person who had to talk to the people in my life I care about doing the the same, and let me tell you that it’s tough either way! All I’ll say is overworking will catch up to you eventually and finding that balance is key. Certainly that’s easier said than done and it’s something I’m still working on!
For the last one, there’s no embarrassment in doing something by yourself! There are some activities I prefer on my own actually. If you really felt self conscious, I think the suggestion to bring a friend next time is a good one. Plus things are only embarrassing if you let them be! I guarantee those high school employees couldn’t care less lol.
1) I currently have two cats sitting on me but just a few minutes ago, I also had two dogs sitting on me. They're all cute, very needy, and will not just allow me to drink my morning tea in peace. Katya, my heart burst at your description of your chihuahua bc I love mine so so so so much that I still gave her a big hug and kiss this morning even after realizing that she peed on the bed and I accidentally slept on it all night. My wife just texted me to say that she thinks Lulu (said chihuahua) may have shit in my office bc she slunk in and came out with a noticeable pep in her step. (She's acting out bc she hates that we pulled up the carpet in the bedroom, you see.) I will undoubtedly hug her naughty ass when I see her next and smite her name whilst doing laundry to clean the bed clothes. Oh, also? My suuuuper old and frail cat, Monster, did scratch me this morning as I tried to clean his boogery nose. Yes, I am a lesbian.
2) Re: burnout...this year I burned TF out bc my boss' were taking advantage of me and others so I stopped giving a shit. There's so much to the story including gender pay disparity and discrimination against women, queer people, POC, and disabled people but we don't have time for this. To cut to the chase, when I came to HR about these issues, they told me that by coming forward about these extremely serious issues that I was "harming my personal brand." I literally told them to go duck themselves and they ended up paying me 18 months severance to go and not sue. So, hence all this time to wipe cat boogers and do dog pee laundry. HEAVEN comparatively. Sometimes burnout takes care of itself!
3) With regards to trampolining, during quar, I allowed Busy Philips to influence me to purchase a personal mini trampoline. It was expensive and I've used it maybe thrice. To be fair, we moved soon after the tramp came into my life and I've been hecka busy telling people to go duck themselves (deservedly so) so I haven't really been present for my trampoline. I have tall ceilings here so maybe it's time!
I have no doubt that my cats are psychopaths, but I also have no qualms about it. I know that one day, when I die, they will feed off of my corpse until the neighbours catch the smell and I have made my piece with it. I'll be dead, why would I care what happens to my physical leftovers. People worship invisible gods and are convinced that's worth their while. At least I can snuggle my superior beastly creatures and I have the satisfaction of knowing that they depend on me... Everyone can fuck right off!
Wow, question two sounds like something one of my best friends would send because I do, too, never stop working no matter how sick I get. I get the concern but I genuinely love working and it does not matter how stressful my job gets, it’s far better than not working at all. Having a job and keeping myself busy all the time helps my mental health too. There was a time period where I was unemployed, and it was one of the worst years of my life. I was miserable. Maybe your friend feels the same way, too.
Also the way Katya describes cats make so much sense. And that’s precisely why I love them so much. Those creatures, indeed, never die. 💖💖
Although I can accept the fact that there are people out there that hate cats .. who am I kidding. It is unacceptable. I still love love love your answers and watching so many episodes of UNHhhh evokes your voices while reading your fabulous answers. And the last one. Why would you go trampoline alone? I mean going to a cinema alone is something I've done many times and it is great because you avoid the whole talking about the movie experience. But going trampolining alone is like riding a tandem alone. Whatever this column is amazing . Only question is: why did I find it on my last day of quarantine? 🤩
"I don't like dogs"
Dog lovers, and the world in general: "GASP, what kind of MONSTER"
"I don't like cats"
Cat lovers: "lol, yeah, they're such horrible little shits. i love them tho"
LMAO. This is extremely accurate.

I feel HEARD by the overworked friend and Trixie's answer. Get your coin, THEN, health insurance! Priorities!
Can you imagine booking a trampoline sesh, and inviting Katya...And she actually shows up to jump with you?! 🤭❤🥰

When I get my Trixie Doll I will definitely not let my cats mangle it... 🤨
