At the risk of sounding incredibly cheesy, I just feel like this has a different, serious, passionate energy that I love.
And now to find out that Trixie loves Augusten Burroughs??? Holy shit, I'm floored but it makes perfect sense. Let a girl know if you ever want to talk about Wolf at the Table.
Ladies - you have just made my day with these answers. I wish all your peeps with questions love and an easier ride than they have had to date. Remember, its always best to be true to who you are, not who someone tells you to be. BIGLOVE
Thank you both especially for question n3. Not in the exact same situation but kinda similar (spoiler alert: i am the queer catholic uncle but not dead already thank God hahaha). Your words are very encouraging!
Other than #3, these seem a bit off the mark. It would be different if LW #1 weren't a minor, but telling her mother that she is in a cult might not be the safest option. Also, there is access to correct information, but there are also misinformation campaigns out there and it's understandable that at least some people who are targeted by them fall for them. I don't know if this will get filtered, but if you go to Spot The Troll dot org, there's a really interesting internet literacy quiz created by the Media Forensics Hub at Clemson University.
For #2, maybe I've been reading too many AskReddit threads about horrific events, but I think it's certainly possible that something could happen that causes your presence to legitimately stop the party. I'm going to be that woman and give my own answer: this is good advice for anyone, but particularly in your case, find your interests and dig into them, whether it be becoming a world-famous drag queen with a passion for drag artistry, entymology, or pop music. Also, the more you do something to help other people and give back, the more full your life will become and the higher caliber of people you will attract to you. Sending you love.
Hi Anon, I really empathise with your situation. I’m a teacher in Sydney Australia and wonder if your school has a counsellor who you might feel comfortable talking with? It’s really important to get support and hopefully gain some practical suggestions from a trained professional. In Australia we have the kids helpline which is a free service where kids and teens can talk anonymously with counsellors and get advice. I’ve had a look on the web but can’t find any similar US services. Maybe you could have a search online to see if there’s any support numbers you can call in your area/community. Sending you lots of love & hoping your find some support and a listening ear who you can talk to. Peace, Jessica 🕊
They answered them so thoughtful and sweet...especially the last one
obsessed with how much thought you put into answering these 🥰
Reading gooped is always a bright spot in my day.
