These are two sides of my brain: Trixie is the side that tells me that nothing has a real solution, and that I would rather buy something just for pleasure, and Katya is the side that has wisdom and some kind of social skills.

I didn't choose hysterectomy myself. Hysterectomy chose me. When the doctor was telling me the procedure was necessary and lifesaving, he was very apologetic. Since I was 37 at the time without children, he was very sorry to let me know, I will forever lose the ability to have them. It never occurred to him that I never actually wanted children and that hysterectomy was a dream come true! I got my first period 12 days before turning 11 years old and every month since then has provided assorted and growing in intensity torture opportunity courtesy of my uterus. I haven't had my period since May 26th 2017 and that is one of the best things that ever happened to me! Honestly, if you KNOW you don't want children, why do you have to endure a period?!

Anyway, "we are all just fleshy bone creatures floating on a rock in outer space" belongs on a t-shirt or embroidered cushion of the "the whole hallway smells like cum" variety. I better see this sold somewhere soon!

I have to be honest but as a working mother wine, weed, and running away seem like a fantastic idea. I only have one kid but am considering having another and recently asked a friend how she coped with two; she screamed "don't do it", which I think says it all.

Remember ladies, chardonnay in a tupperware juice box looks just like apple juice and can make an afternoon in the park with the little ones almost tolerable for Mommy without offending the sensibilities of the more earnest and delicate or inviting criticism from the more "serious parents".

Just as long as the kiddies don't accidentally take a sip out of mommy's "juice" 😋
