Hi Substack, I need you to see this video of the black swans at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Melbourne. After a brief hiatus in Canberra, the Bath and Garden tour of Australia has continued in a huge way. I’m typing this post from my spacious hotel bathtub, in fact.
I’m glad you didn’t get bitten - swans are beautiful and MEAN. Our neighbor used to own some and every time they escaped from their pond, even the police wouldn’t touch them!
awwww i’m glad your is going well! i’m currently on holidays and first of all it’s so hot here i understand why you guys LOVE air conditioning. second i’m wearing trixie cosmetics every day and wore my red scare lipstick out tonight, which was a story in itself. we accidentally crashed a party and danced our way in for free, met these random english lads that had some crazy dance moves and we couldn’t really tell what they were saying. some guy pet my head and tried to take my sunglasses so there was a little tug of war there. then they randomly played thriller and i LIVED and some guy asked if i was ok, so i said “yes i love halloween!“ and then told him about the haunted house i work at and told them all to come visit if they’re ever in dublin (The Nightmare Realm, one of europe’s best haunted houses and ireland’s best haunted house) and showed them my bird skull earrings which they were grossed out by. then we did the splits and went home.
My heart stopped when you almost touched the swan, you were glad they had no babies at the moment or your arm would be broken. They are very protective birds. I live near a lake and heard quiet a few stories about people who thought they could f*ck around with the swans. Spoiler: they are now terrified of them 😂 Anyways take care and see you in Zurich (there is a huge lake and a lot of birds to look (!) at) ♥️
