Liquid Lipstick, But Make It Not Crusty

Can I wear liquid lipstick and NOT have my lips feel like a dry, chapped vagina?

YES. But you need to pick the right formulas. I, Trixie Mattel, have often dabbled in cosmeceuticals. Because my lips are, let's say, SLIGHTLY enhanced through the illusions of makeup artistry, I know a lot about liquid lipsticks. They appeal to me because they ensure an ultra-precise and super-longwearing look. HOWEVER, America, I have found myself in the past few years at an emotional spiritual crossroads the likes of which could only be adapted for film by Shonda Rhimes. Did you know that Shonda Rhimes wrote Crossroads starring Britney Spears? Kind of gaggy.

My main drama is that I hate dry-feeling lips. I want a tattoo-like wear but not at the expense of my two lips feeling like tootsie rolls wrapped in sandpaper at the gig. Luckily, America, I have found some amazing formulas that are with you for the long haul but don't dry you out. 

1. NYX Liquid Suede

Admittedly, this one has a satin finish on the lip– so it's not totally matte. Yes, I'm a liar. But it truly wears like lip balm and looks mostly matte. My all-time favorite lip color is "Tea and Cookies" in this formula. Every time I think of the name I think of Gia Gunn saying "Do you believe in milk and cookies?" It's amazing and it's only $7.50! Find your favorite, wipe the shelves clean, and walk out of your CVS feeling affluent and powerful.

2. NYX Lingerie XXL

If we are being honest, I never enjoyed the Lip Lingerie that much. But for some reason NYX has made it now come in a GIANT tube with an array of very gorgeous natural shades. And for some reason the XXL version is better? Super matte, super full coverage, super-insane wear. It has a buttery scent– almost like fresh-whipped cake batter. Obsessed with the shade "XXPOSE ME."

3. Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink

When I tell you what I am about to tell you, you will be told my opinion. These are BY FAR the best liquid lipsticks I've ever used. When I first used it, I over-layered and learned that hard way that if you layer this product up, you get bizarre texture issues. BUT one, thin, even layer and you have a liquid lip that feels anything but dry. It almost feels like vinyl. It's like your lips have the feel of a cushy pool toy.

There are 41 shades. My favorites are "Loyalist" which is a super soft nude-blush tone, "Poet" which is a very pale peach, and "Revolutionary" which is a muted berry.

If I were you, I’d also grab "Innovator" which is a kiss-proof universal red.

IN CONCLUSION, I usually prefer a bullet lipstick because I am often changing my lip colors on camera a lot. But for touring and performances, I roll with these homies.
