Diary of a Showgirl #2: Halloween Steam

For the contemporary working drag queen there are about four main times a year where the gigs are plentiful and things get really busy. There’s Pride season throughout the summer (but mostly in June), Christmas time, New Years Eve and Halloween. As an introverted person I’ve always preferred to work during these times, because I don’t like big crowds or waiting in line or getting blackout drunk and waking up in a green bra without my keys or wallet in an airport bathroom in Louisiana. That is reserved exclusively for Mardi Gras. 

Last year was mostly a bust on all traveling gigs and was the first year in 15 years that I spent Halloween indoors and out of drag. So this year, I figured why not make up for lost time and do two gigs back-to-back on either side of the country. What could possibly go wrong?
